Steve Bovo

Bovo has represented Commission District 13, which includes Hialeah and Miami Lakes, since 2011. He started his political career as a Hialeah City Council Member and also served in the Florida House of Representatives. If he becomes mayor he promises not to raise taxes. He has pointed to transportation— specifically, expanding the rail service— as his top priority. Throughout his campaigning, Bovo has touted himself as the fiscal conservative and the law-and-order candidate, appearing to conservative principles in a non-partisan race. In the August primaries, he received 29.41% of the vote.


Daniella Levine Cava

Levine Cava has been the representative in Commission District 8, stretching from Homestead to West Kendall, since 2014. She boasts of a career forged in public service, known for championing causes like women’s issues, climate change, discrimination, social justice, gun violence and distrust in government. Levine Cava has said that as county mayor, her top priorities would be tackling the coronavirus and affordable housing. If elected, she would be the first female mayor Miami-Dade County has ever had. In the August primaries, she received 28.62% of the vote.
