The NRA Spends Millions Each Election Cycle For or Against Political Candidates

For an organization like the NRA, election laws cap direct contributions to political candidates at $5,000 per election cycle. However, independent spending on communications such as advertising and brochures has been unlimited since the 2010 Supreme Court ruling in the Citizens United case. As a result, the NRA has been able to spend increasing amounts of money for and against particular political candidates each election cycle.
