Earthquake Safety of Hospitals in the Bay Area

Hospitals that have "acute care" facilities are given earthquake safety ratings between 1 and 5. A "SPC" (Seismic Performance Category) of 1 is means the building has a significant risk of collapsing during an earthquake.

Most hospitals are collections of several buildings, some of which might be safer than others. In this map, hospitals that have at least one SPC 1-rated building are shaded red. The larger the dot, the more SPC 1-rated buildings that bulding has. Click a dot for more info.
